Seth
Atkinson is the new part-time Administrative Assistant for LandWatch.
Seth graduated from Amherst College in 2001, and for the last two
years has been working in Japan. A geology major, Seth has long
been interested in the natural world and people's relationships
to it. While in Japan, he noticed some of the acute consequences
of poor land use: jumbled cities without coherent zoning, endless
power cables stretching across the countryside, factories dumping
waste in rice paddies, and the like. This sparked Seths thought
about the need for long-term solutions to development issues. Now
back at home in the Monterey Bay Area, and preparing to go to law
school next year, Seth hopes to learn more and get involved in the
policy-making process during his time at LandWatch. He is very excited
to be working with LandWatch and looks forward to meeting and working
with all the LandWatch community.
