With more than 20 years of hands-on experience in housing and land use policy, LandWatch is refocusing on housing and climate policy—at both the local level in our review of general plans and development projects, but now also at the state level. We believe we are uniquely positioned to contribute successful strategies to the Legislature’s consideration on housing policy—a top priority for Sacramento in 2021. We’ve learned what works and what doesn’t—to serve as a model for other communities. We also believe we can successfully work with our talented local legislators who hold key committee positions to lead the critical land use changes that science tells us are necessary. To this end, in January 2021, we conveyed the LandWatch Legislative Working Group on Climate and Housing.
