Through the Regional Housing Needs Assessment, Pacific Grove is updating its housing element to accommodate the 6th cycle housing allocation.

• The Housing Element was updated by the City of Pacific Grove.
• The Housing Element was last updated in 2015.

• The City released a Draft Housing Element in September 2023 for RHNA’s 6th cycle.

• Letter: LandWatch Supports the Housing Element Update Adoption (224K PDF)
  LandWatch urges Pacific Grove to adopt the 2023–2031 Housing Element, related general plan and zoning amendments, and certify the FEIR to enable higher density and mixed-use housing, especially affordable units for local workers. The letter highlights environmental and community benefits of infill housing and warns delay risks Builder’s Remedy exposure. (12.02.25)

  LandWatch provides substantive feedback on the Draft Housing Element supporting the focus on the most vulnerable populations. The letter also offers suggestions such as policies related to higher densities and removing governmental constraints. (10.10.23)
