Monterey County

There are a lot of proposals in the Carmel Valley area that have required our short and long-term attention. Many of the proposals have impacts to water sources, conversion of natural lands, and traffic.

• Funds Allocated to Road Roundabout (page 6A)
  The Monterey County Board of Supervisors allocated $460,000 to fund preliminary work on the creation of a roundabout at Carmel Valley Road and Laureles Grade. Roundabouts reduce traffic congestion, speeding, and keep the roads safer.  (02.28.20)

• Letter: LandWatch Comments on the Draft EIR (270K PDF)
  LandWatch provides substantive comments on the retail development, which would consist of four commercial retail buildings, a convenience market/grocery store and three smaller buildings. Comments focus on the limited project objectives, limited alternatives analysis, and failure to compare the project to the General Plan and other policy documents. (09.20.18)
